The Greater Anniston Area Chamber of Commerce was organized in 1910. Since its organization, it has drawn upon the community’s most outstanding citizens for its leadership.
For years, the Oxford, Anniston, and Jacksonville Chambers of Commerce had been making their own way in the world of civic affairs, industrial and business development. But in 1978, the three organizations agreed to merge, effective January 1979, thus forming the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce. Then, in July 1984, the Piedmont Chamber merged with the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce to make it truly a County organization.
In 2018, the Chamber rebranded to the Calhoun County Area Chamber & Visitors Center to better present the Tourism efforts it advertised for the region.
The Calhoun County Area Chamber & Visitors Center exists to promote and sustain the economic growth of the Calhoun County Region, resulting in a community that is a dynamic place to work, visit and live.
