The North Alabama Birding Trail encompasses 50 viewing sites in 11 counties. All sites can be accessed by vehicle, and many also have associated walking and hiking trails. Golfers can hit the links at Silver Lakes, one of the 10 courses making up the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. Other popular area courses include Anniston Municipal Golf Course, Anniston Country Club, Cane Creek, Indian Oaks, Pine Hill, & Cider Ridge.
With spectator sports galore, one can enjoy a variety of sporting events. JSU fields 14 intercollegiate athletic teams. To satisfy race fans, the Talladega Superspeedway is not far away. The track is known as the fastest, most competitive motorsports venue in the world.
